Previous reports indicate the overseas model will remain but should get updated interior and infotainment systems to align with what's going to be in the mgs5 ev

Last year they announced one for IM L6(another company from SAIC) and I dont think it released at all. No reviews of the Semi SSB. So let us see if this time around its actually released or not.

The first 2 generations of the BMW 1 series sold well being RWD despite 99% of hatchbacks being FWD. The MG4 has provisions for the front end to be driven given the X power has 4WD but if it is the same platform it makes sense to keep the motor in the rear for simplicity and packaging as it's already packaged to be in the rear.

I just thought there's not much reason to change it given it's the same platform, unless it is necessary. Also the rivals are FWD

Agree 100%. The exterior styling is a big step backwards. It is so bland and boring, completely lacking the aggression of the original design.

It hasn't. It remains RWD.

What? I never hear the position of charging port would determine the platform of the car. There are many FWD EV with charging port placed at the front fender, at the nose or at the rear fender. All these positions are depended from the automaker preference.

MG don't sell well in China their ICE/Hybrid cars in CN lose 80% value within a year as no one wants them. They are only make profits abroad.

Placement of charger has nothing to do with RWD or FWD, sadly most people can't reverse into a space well and prefer to go nose in which the front charger makes easier
